Meet Gianna: Our Newest Move For Jenn Grant Recipient

At just 9 years old, Gianna was a vibrant ballerina, lacrosse player, and runner — always on the move, full of energy and grace. What first seemed like a pulled muscle, and then growing pains, quickly turned into something no family ever expects to hear: osteosarcoma - a rare type of bone cancer that typically affects adolescents and young adults.

In what felt like a whirlwind, Gianna went from being an active young girl to a cancer warrior, enduring 29 rounds of chemotherapy and undergoing a rotationplasty amputation. Through it all, she has faced each challenge with courage and resilience that inspires everyone around her.

Recently, Gianna has been recovering from an infection in her leg and is now waiting for it to fully heal. Her goal? To walk, run, and dance again — this time with her new prosthesis made possible through a Move For Jenn Foundation grant thanks to the amazing people who support our mission!

Gianna’s story is a reminder of why we do what we do — to provide the resources, equipment, and hope that help amputees reclaim their active lives. We’re honored to be part of her journey and can’t wait to cheer her on as she gets back to doing what she loves most.

A Special Thank You to Brett Rosen

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Brett Rosen, an ABC-certified prosthetist/orthotist and Clinic Manager for Hanger Clinic in St. Augustine, Florida, for his incredible care and expertise in helping Gianna take her next steps.

With over 19 years of experience, Brett specializes in advanced prosthetic and orthotic treatment for patients of all ages. He’s skilled in leading-edge technology — from microprocessor knees and feet to myoelectric upper extremity systems — but what truly sets Brett apart is his compassion. As a second-generation clinician, Brett grew up watching his father change lives through prosthetics and has dedicated his career to doing the same. He lives a life of gratitude, giving back to his community whenever and however he can.

Brett’s connection to Move For Jenn runs deep. Back in 2018, while working with the Hanger Clinic team in Charlotte, he met Jenn as she began her own journey with limb loss and recovery. He recalls seeing her determination and her dream of creating a foundation that would support other amputees who faced financial barriers. Although Brett later returned to Florida, he stayed in touch and has remained a steadfast supporter of Jenn and the Move For Jenn Foundation.

Gianna marks the fifth Move For Jenn grant that Brett has helped bring to life, and we are so grateful for his ongoing partnership and heart for our mission.
