A Surprise Worth Running For: Meet Our Newest Prosthetic Grant Recipient, Isabella Reddick!

For 20-year-old Isabella "Bella" Reddick, the journey to running again has been filled with unexpected challenges, incredible determination, and a belief that her best days are still ahead.

On Saturday, October 24, 2026, that journey took an unforgettable turn when the Move For Jenn Foundation surprised Bella with a life-changing prosthetic grant during our 7th Annual Pajamas All Day 5K & Community Festival!

Bella and her husband traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina, to join us for the festivities, but little did she know that she was about to become the center of one of the most special moments of the evening. In front of our attendees, we announced that Bella would be receiving her very own running blade, helping her take another incredible step toward reclaiming the active lifestyle she loves.

And to understand just how meaningful this moment was, you have to know Bella's story.

A Journey of Strength, Resilience, and Determination

Shortly after graduating from high school, Bella received a life-altering cancer diagnosis. Just three weeks later, she underwent an amputation of her right leg.

At an age when most young adults are beginning to navigate life after high school, Bella was facing challenges she could never have imagined.

But rather than allowing her circumstances to define her future, Bella found a new sense of strength and determination.

As she shared in her grant application, her amputation pushed her to accomplish things she never thought possible and completely transformed the way she viewed herself and her capabilities.

Her road to recovery, however, was anything but easy.

In February 2025, Bella received her first prosthetic leg. Unfortunately, she experienced frequent falls and struggled with mobility, initially believing these challenges were simply part of adjusting to life with a prosthesis.

It wasn't until she switched prosthetists that she discovered her socket had been fitted incorrectly, her prosthetic foot was the wrong size and weight rating, and her mechanical knee wasn't functioning properly.

With the support of a new prosthetic care team, Bella finally began receiving the individualized care and equipment she needed.

After trying several microprocessor knees, she found one that worked beautifully for her: the Quattro. Unfortunately, insurance coverage presented another obstacle. Her new knee was denied three times before finally receiving approval in March 2026.

That approval changed everything.

With a properly functioning prosthesis, Bella returned to CrossFit, hiking, and the active lifestyle she had missed so much.

But there was still one thing she dreamed of doing again.

Running.

The Next Step: A Running Blade

For Bella, running represents more than physical activity. It's an opportunity to continue challenging herself, rediscovering her abilities, and pursuing goals that once felt out of reach.

In her application to the Move For Jenn Foundation, Bella shared her desire to obtain a running blade that would allow her to run, jog, jump, and participate more fully in the activities she loves.

She had already set her sights on participating in our Pajamas All Day 5K and a CrossFit competition in November 2026.

A specialized running prosthesis, however, comes with significant expenses, including fitting, alignment, adjustments, and additional components that are often not covered by insurance.

That's where the Move For Jenn Foundation comes in.

Through our activewear prosthetic grant program, we help individuals affected by sarcoma and other affiliated diseases gain access to specialized prosthetic equipment that allows them to pursue active lifestyles and achieve their personal goals.

For Bella, receiving a running blade means another opportunity to push beyond what she once thought possible.

An Unforgettable Surprise at Pajamas All Day

Our 7th Annual Pajamas All Day 5K & Community Festival was already a celebration of community, hope, and the incredible people who make our mission possible. And per usual, we had an extra-special surprise planned!

Bella and her husband traveled to Charlotte to be part of the event, unaware that we had something life-changing in store.

Surrounded by our community of participants, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters, we surprised Bella by announcing that she had been selected as our newest prosthetic grant recipient!

In front of everyone gathered to celebrate the Move For Jenn Foundation's mission, we revealed that Bella would be receiving the running blade she had been dreaming of.

It was a powerful reminder of exactly why we do what we do.

Every registration, sponsorship, donation, and volunteer hour helps create moments like this, turning generosity into tangible, life-changing opportunities for individuals like Bella.

The Best Is Yet to Come

From navigating a cancer diagnosis and amputation to overcoming challenges with prosthetic care, returning to CrossFit, and setting her sights on running again, Bella's journey is a testament to her resilience and determination.

Her story is also a beautiful reminder that life after limb loss can be filled with new adventures, big dreams, and possibilities.

We are so honored to welcome Bella to the Move For Jenn family and cannot wait to see all she accomplishes with her new running blade!

To everyone who joined us for the 7th Annual Pajamas All Day 5K & Community Festival, thank you for being part of this unforgettable moment. Your support helps us continue providing activewear prosthetic grants while advancing sarcoma research, awareness, and advocacy.

Bella, we are cheering you on every step of the way! 💛🎗️
