Skip It Saturday
If you follow Move For Jenn on Facebook or Instagram, you are probably familiar with "Skip it Saturday," an initiative started by our amazing board member, Jenny Sage.
Jenny, a UNC graduate and former collegiate athlete, is the current Vice President of Off Premise National Accounts at Rodney Strong Vineyards, where she has been for the last 14+ years. She is the mom of three, including one set of twins. One of her twins, Gracie, was diagnosed with sarcoma in June of 2022, launching Jenny and her family into the sarcoma community - a place they never imagined they would be, and a place they have already made a tremendous impact.
Since Gracie's diagnosis, Jenny and Gracie have been bringing awareness to this "forgotten" cancer. Throughout Gracie's fight, she was concerned about the other children in the hospital with her - a shining example of the love that her mother continually shows others.
While Gracie was battling sarcoma, Gracie and her mom raised thousands for cancer focused nonprofits, Move For Jenn included, provided gift cards and gas cards to other families in the hospital, and chose to spread love and positivity throughout her battle.
We are thrilled to share that Gracie is currently in remission!
Jenny and Gracie's most recent endeavor has been their "Skip it Saturday" fundraiser in which others are asked to skip something amounting to $5 and instead donate that money to cancer research. This dynamic duo has a goal to raise $25,000 by the end of the year to help fund a targeted sarcoma research trial.
Jenny and Gracie's Skip it Saturday fundraiser has currently raised over $10,000 meaning they are almost halfway to their $25,000 goal!
