Meet Move For Jenn Grant Recipient, Cricket Harter
Supporting Strength and Resilience: Meet Cricket Harter
The Move For Jenn Foundation is proud to support Sarah (Cricket) Harter, a driven and inspiring mother, athlete, and cancer survivor, on her journey to reclaim an active lifestyle after the loss of her leg. Cricket is a two-year amputee who has refused to let her diagnosis or amputation define her. Instead, she continues to pursue an adventurous life filled with hiking, running, skiing, and equestrian sports—all while being a role model to her children.
In 2022, Cricket noticed a small lump on the bottom of her foot. After a long and painful medical journey—including misdiagnoses, an eventual cancer diagnosis (Round Cell Myxoid Liposarcoma), and chemotherapy—she underwent a life-altering amputation below the knee in April 2023. But true to her resilient spirit, Cricket was not deterred. In just over a year, she completed a 5K and began trying out new activities like skiing, scuba diving, paddleboarding, and more!
Now, thanks to The Move For Jenn Foundation, our amazing supporters, our friend Leon Owens at Blatchford, and the team at Floyd Brace Company, Cricket is receiving a cutting-edge activewear prosthetic—the Elan microprocessor foot, developed by Blatchford along with a specialized custom made socket. This microprocessor-controlled ankle is designed to adapt to different terrains, memorizing her unique cadence and allowing for smoother, more natural movement. With this prosthetic, Cricket will have the confidence and freedom to continue pursuing the outdoor lifestyle she loves.
We were thrilled to be able to surprise Cricket at our fourth annual Move For Jenn Open Powered by lululemon by letting her know that she would be receiving the activewear prosthetic she had so longed for that was denied coverage by her insurance.
She plans to use the Blatchford Elan microprocessor foot to summit Owl’s Head Mountain in Quebec this July—a cherished family tradition she is eager to share again with her children. She also looks forward to using the Elan for mountain climbing and returning to equestrian sports, a passion she once pursued competitively at the international level.
We are honored to help make this possible for Cricket. Her strength and determination embody the mission of the Move For Jenn Foundation: to empower amputees to live fully and actively, even after limb loss. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes her next!
