Move For Jenn x Sarcoma Awareness Month 2023

July is Sarcoma Awareness Month!

Did you know that sarcoma is often called the "forgotten cancer" because of its rarity? Because of this, sarcoma is often misdiagnosed. According to the National Foundation for Cancer Research, "Sarcomas are rare in adults and make up approximately 1% of all adult cancer diagnoses."

Sarcoma is a type of cancer that begins in bone or in the soft tissues of the body, including cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels, fibrous tissue, or other connective or supportive tissue. (National Cancer Institute)

While sarcoma can show in different ways, the most common way is through a lump or bump that may become painful and grows over time. However, this isn't always the case. Learn more about what to do if you find a lump on your body: "5 Tips: I Found a Lump on my Body, Should I Worry?"

Wondering what you can do this month to help bring awareness to this "forgotten" cancer?

Be sure to let folks know why you're rocking yellow and refer them to moveforjenn.org for more information and resources.

Save $5 when you purchase both the bow and bracelet.

  • Participate in the 10th annual Run for Liberty on July 4 in Cary, NC sponsored by Del Bianco Prosthetics & Orthotics!

"This year we are giving all profits directly to The Move for Jenn Foundation, who offers grants in the form of activewear prosthetics to those who have suffered the loss of a limb to sarcoma or other affiliated diseases. These sports prosthetics are not considered 'medically necessary' by most insurance companies, so this foundation bridges the gap to allow amputees to get back to the physical activities they enjoyed prior to amputation."

  • Create a fundraiser on social media! Creating a fundraiser on Facebook or Instagram is as easy as 1, 2, 3.

"Natasha Sims is a stage 4 sarcoma cancer fighter. She has been battling soft tissue sarcoma since 2016. She has been using her platform to spread awareness of this incurable disease. In 2022, Natasha decided to write a book about her journey—which includes the unfortunate reality of a misdiagnosis, to trying many clinical trials in hopes of one day being apart of a cure. Aside from her book, she participated in Relay for Life & uses her voice to help others going through cancer & also those who are supporting other cancer fighters. Natasha is open to all & any communication from anyone that needs someone to talk to, as her Instagram is a safe space to go to if someone needs someone to talk to."

"Precious little gold filigree heart studs. Lightweight and perfect for all ages!

A (large) portion of this sale benefits a different cause each month!

July is Sarcoma Awareness month and this month’s sales will benefit Move For Jenn. Here is our why: This time last year, our friend Gracie was diagnosed with a very rare type of sarcoma. After enduring 12 rounds of chemo and 21 infusions she was considered in remission at the beginning of this year. All the praise hands! Gracie and her mom are committed to raising awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research. They have a personal goal of raising $25k this year. So far, they have raised a little over $10k this year of their $25k goal. Let’s help them knock it out of the park!

These heart earrings make the perfect gift for ladies of all ages! Small, light weight and did I mention adorable?"
